I hereby grant to the Johannes Gutenberg University (JGU) Mainz the right to make my document available on the internet for free usage subject to the following licence conditions. Within the framework of this provision, users are entitled to use documents at no charge as per the law on copyright, in particular to download or store the document for private and other personal use, or to print same in small quantities.

 

Licence conditions

Granting of rights

The author grants to JGU a non-exclusive right, for an unlimited period of time and irrevocably, to make the document available for public access, to archive same on the JGU document server, and to reproduce the document for these purposes. Copyright shall remain unaffected by this licence. Uploading this document shall not be associated with any legally binding claim to provision or archiving.

Long-term archiving and transformation into other formats

The author grants to JGU the right to store the documents provided in its own long-term archives and where necessary (e.g. for migration, improved accessibility or indexing) to transfer same to a different electronic and physical format.

Transmission of metadata and documents

The author grants to JGU the right to make the metadata of the document available to other databases at no charge. In addition he/she grants to JGU the right to make the document available to third parties within the framework of national collection mandates or for long-term archiving for online provision, or archiving.

Third-party rights

The author declares that no third-party rights (e.g. co-authors, publishers, collection societies, funding organizations) shall be infringed by the provision of the document and every part thereof (e.g. diagrams). The author provides an assurance that the document does not contain personal data of third parties that is subject to data protection. The author provides an assurance that he/she will immediately notify JGU in cases of doubt or where legal issues arise in this regard. The author exonerates JGU from any claims by third parties. The JGU is entitled to block access to the document and to delete same to the extent concrete evidence for infringement of the rights of third parties exists.

Blocking of document

In particular exceptional cases, the author may request the blocking of his/her document, where this is also in the interests of the JGU. Blocking will only occur after approval of this request by the University library. Possible removal of the document from the University library server and the German National Library (DNB) provides no guarantee that no copy exists on the internet.

 

Additional regulations for dissertations

Where a dissertation is concerned, the author provides an assurance the supplied electronic version corresponds to the approved original version. Exceptions to this are parts of the document that are subject to copyright.

Recommendation by supervisor

To the extent that the document relates to a dissertation or masterĀ“s thesis, publication shall be subject exclusively to the following express recommendation by the supervisor:

"I have supervised this dissertation as part of the course of studies and recommend its publication in the JGU archive of electronic documents (ArchiMeD).
